Consultations & Health Checks

At Burvale Heights Veterinary Hospital we offer consultations for all healthcare concerns for your pet. From consults for new puppy, kitten or recently acquired adult animal check ups to ensure your new family member is in good health, to appointments for any concerns you have for the health of your pet, a consultation with our vets will keep your pet in the best of health.

You know your pet the best, so when you notice something out of the ordinary it often is an indication that something may not be quite right with your beloved companion. Changes in energy levels, appetite, thirst or behaviour are subtle changes that can be caused by a whole range of underlying illnesses. More obvious causes for concern include vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, sneezing, seizuring or visible skin or eye irritations.

An appointment with one of our caring vets will include a thorough physical examination, as well as a discussion about everything you’ve noticed about your pets health leading up to any illness. Access to a wide array of equipment allows us to perform many simple diagnostics in the consultation – often giving you an instant answer as to what is happening with your pet, as well as immediate commencement of treatment.

In those few cases where we are not able to discern immediately the cause of your pets distress, we can carry out a large range of diagnostics on site, such as digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and clinical pathology as well as sending samples to external reference laboratories to ensure highest quality diagnostic testing. We work together with you to formulate the best diagnostic approach for your pet on an individual basis.

Our routine consulting hours are:

  • 9:00am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 7:00pm Monday to Friday
  • 9:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday

We are always happy to see urgent cases outside of normal consulting times, so give us a call on 03 9877 3999 and we’ll ensure your pet gets veterinary attention as soon as possible.
